Emergency departments can be hectic, busy places. Doctors and Nurses are often hurrying to provide the best possible care to their patients, as quickly as possible. Also, emergency patients are often not in ideal educational mode. They are feeling ill, or perhaps in pain, and may find it difficult to listen to their doctors and nurses. After patients get home, they often can't recall just what their doctor was telling them about how to care for their condition, after they leave the ER. Kaiser Permanente's ER Aftercare podcast series gives ER patients a second change to hear an ER Doctor explain their condition, and how to care for their condition after they leave the ER. Pick from an assortment of common ER conditions, and then let Dr. Ted calmly explain aftercare instructions to you, in the privacy of your iPod headphones!
